He's Dead!
by Valerie Underhill

Think of the adult drug abuser that is dead from an overdose. When he was a child, there were signs and info every where telling him, 'DON'T DO DRUGS'. His parents told him many times too. He did not listen. Drugs felt good. Drugs was an easy avenue. Drugs blocked out responsibility. Drugs were pretty. Drugs were what was happening. Drugs were every where. So he did drugs until one day he collapsed from an over dose and died at a young age.

You may think the title of this marketing article is harsh and it is. Drugs are harsh and people make marketing harsh too. It does not have to be that way. The young man could have listened and chose a different path.

We ALL choose our own path. We really do. Many people start out very poor and end up very wealthy. Many people start out very wealthy and end up very poor. We choose much of our own destiny. As human beings we have the ability to think and make decisions. Making the wrong decision can lead to our demise, to our own self destruction, just like the young man that chose drugs as his path.

I'm not an expert marketer. You won't find me on the front page of a national biz op magazine. Perhaps my sights are just not that high because I have no interest in being a 'Big Dog'. I can tell you, I know a whole lot of what it takes to work at home online successfully.

Like the drug abuser that ran around spending his life doping it up, there are literally millions of people online doing the same thing in marketing. The want to be 'work at home' person runs around joining various programs without so much researching what they are joining. Even when they join ethical real business opportunities that work...they don't usually work for them.

Going into business online in marketing without your own website is like starting a shoe business offline with no shoes. How are you going to sell shoes if you don't have any shoes to sell? People get lost in the enormous amount of biz ops and affiliate programs and join them because it appears to be the easy way. Eventually they quit or they just never learn. It's only a very small handful that realize they are doing backwards marketing, get smart, make the wise decision to place their marketing efforts in their own control mode...and build a website.

It's common sense. Just look around at people like Mark Joyner, Jimmy D Brown, Willie .... well it's obvious no matter if they are big dogs or small dogs, successful work at home people place FOCUS in their OWN WEBSITE. Everything else in marketing takes a back seat because your own website is similar to a brick and mortor business offline. Your own website is your home away from home. Your own website is how visitors find you. Your own website is how you make sales and achieve customers and make referrals and have repeat customers....without your own website, you're like a junkie on path to the cemetary.
