Get Your Money Back
by Valerie Underhill

It's amazing how many people go around purchasing things online but never bothering to get their money back. What do I mean by that? I don't mean getting your money back from the seller. I mean getting your money back in your pocket with the break even point.

The 'break even point' should always be the first focus.

I don't buy anything in the marketing arena unless I am mighty sure I am going to break even thereby making my money back. Whether it's a business opportunity, ebook, software, etc., my first focus is getting my money back.

As a norm, I am going to scrutinize whatever it is I am considering purchasing, very closely before I buy. This means I am going to do some research and ask myself some questions...

  • Who owns the product or biz op?
  • Is this a legitimate biz op or item?
  • Is the biz op or item really going to be worthy for ME?
  • Will I be able to break even with this biz op or item?
  • Instead of thinking in terms of becoming wealthy with a biz op or product, instead just focus on the above questions first.

The break even point may come by way of ....

  • Reselling the item
  • Referring people to the biz op
  • There are other ways the break even point may come and that could be far more important than direct sales or referrals. If the biz op or item has quality information that is going to help you earn income outside of those sources, is a break even point. For example :

  • Building relationships with others in the biz op that nets value -Information that you can utilize to earn income

If you purchase a $29 ebook with no resale rights, you are not going to get your money back. However, if that ebook contains quality information that you put to use, you make $29, then you reached the break even point.

It's almost amazing how many people will shell out their hard earned cash for anything without taking the time to understand the 'break even point' and how that product WILL really benefit them. Personally, I don't want to know how a product CAN help me, I want to know if I WILL put to use the information that WILL in FACT help me.

Let's say Karen purchases an ebook for $10 that contains information about how to create a website about cats. Karen does her research, realizes it is a legitimate product, and Karen KNOWS for a FACT that she is going to create a website about CATS. Karen knows for a fact that she WILL utilize the information in the ebook. Karen creates her cat site, and begins seeing sales of her specialty cat toys. Karen certainly got her moneys worth from the ebook...she made the break even point...but then again, she KNEW SHE WOULD.

Let's look at Joe. Karen informs Joe of the same ebook because Joe has been considering creating a cat site. Joe buys the ebook. However, Joe never creates a cat website and in fact, he only partially scans the book. Joe spent $10 for the ebook and he never reaches the break even point.

BEFORE you consider getting rich or even getting into profit, you must consider the break even point...

  • Is the biz op or product truly something you will utilize?
  • Will you break even?
  • If neither of the questions above are answered with a YES, then DON'T buy!

It's like walking into WalMart and seeing a display of batteries on sale. You don't need any batteries. Since they are on sale, you grab a pack anyway because it's a great deal. However, by the time you have use for the batteries, they are dead and leaking battery acid. So you have no choice but to toss them. All you did was toss your money in the trash.

You may need to STOP thinking in terms of 'is this product going to make me wealthy?'. Instead think in terms of 'will I break even with this product?'. If you will break even, then you cannot lose...and it's very likely you will PROFIT.
